Successful Branding Equals Higher Profits

How to Start Your Business Out The Right Way

Branding is important to not only attract and appeal to your customers but to signify and establish your business as your own. Whether it be your logo, color scheme or tagline; these will represent your company and define what the basis of your company is. For instance, Nike is a brand that is very well recognized for it’s swoosh logo and it’s “Just do it” tagline. You immediately know that it is representing a sports company and it promotes positivity and well being which is also important to keep in mind with your own branding.  Below are a few key elements to consider:

  • The color scheme sets the mood and tone of your business. You may have noticed from looking at logos and businesses around you, that certain colors represent different industries. For instance, corporate blue is often used for banks, accountants or anything business related, while red would often signify a medical profession and bright primary colors are associated with children. These will be a factor in attracting your audience and who you want to potentially become a customer.
  • Advertising and marketing your business goes hand in hand with your branding. Your initial focus should be on the core value that you want to represent. These values will be reflected in all of your campaigns, web design, logo design and other corporate relationships and should never change; otherwise you may wind up confusing your viewers and current customers. Values can be anything from cleanliness to client satisfaction; and will help to convey a consistent message to your audience. For example, if you are a bank your main value maybe security or a law firm may value loyalty.
  • It is crucial to do research in your industry to find out your target markets needs and wants and how you can meet them and incorporate them into your branding. If you do it the correct way, you can increase your profits from 10-20% from your branding alone, but you need to have all of these elements. In order to do this, you have to set yourself aside from your competitors. When you choose the message you want to promote, it has to be a unique message that will make you stand out but remain relevant to your industry and what you are about.
  • Above all, the main factor in branding is it MUST be attractive. It must catch the eye of your audience or your message will never get anywhere. Your marketing materials should all reflect the look of your logo and have the same underlying theme that will emotionally connect to them as well.
