HELPFUL BUSINESS TIPS

Changes In Social Media That Can Help Promote Your Business

Social Media has been the main source for personal networking for the past few years.  Facebook, Myspace and Twitter are a few of the popular networking websites that have taken on this new media craze.  In recent months, we have seen a rise in small and large businesses using these applications to promote and network their companies.  It is a great way to connect with your clients/customers on a more intimate level, while promoting and exposing your business.  Here are a few ways Social Media can help your business:

  • Exposure:  The best way to gain exposure is to put your name out there on something that is rich in traffic.  For instance, having your restaurant profile on Facebook.  We have many clients who have recently signed up for a Facebook account to promote their Restaurants, Clubs and Bars.  It is a great place to add photos, update promotions, menus and make friends who will potentially become your customers.

FUN BUSINESS FACTS:

  • The 3 most valuable brand names on earth: Marlboro, Coca-Cola, and Budweiser, in that order.
  • In Australia, Burger King is called Hungry Jack's.

Go Green in Your Office:

Bringing lunch to work is more affordable and green friendly when bringing lunch in reusable containers, with reusable napkins and silverware.  If you go out to lunch invite a friend and walk there or ride your bike.  It is a healthier option and your not polluting the air.  If you have to drive make sure you carpool.

Lang Staffing Partners' and EO

New site launched in February 2009

Business Purpose:  Lang Staffing Partners was founded to provide expert solutions for long or short term temporary staffing across all disciplines.  Lang is a New York City based company with a range of professionals who have an intimate knowledge of clients needs which translates into strong, lasting placement activity.  Click here to view old site.

The Site Before EO:  Before Lang hired EO to redesign their site, their old site was a flash website which is not ideal for Search Engine Optimization since the site is primarily made up of images and not text.  Search Engine Optimization scans the content on a website to create a higher "page rank" and generates more traffic.

Some problems with their old site were the amount of unnecessary pages that made it difficult for a client to navigate through. The additional pages created too many steps to get an end result.  Although, the use of corporate blue added to the professionalism that Lang portrays, the site was composed of a simple design with minimal images and a poor layout.

The Site After EO:  Once Lang hired EO, we began meeting with them and understanding their business, their vision for their new site, as well as who their target market was.  Click here to view new site.

Based on this we developed a new design that focused on a high end professional look with a focus on the job categories that they offer.  We did this by creating tabs that were clear and easy to find and pages that are easy to navigate through.  We used varying colors to bring focus to this area of the site and differentiate between categories.

The new design incorporated a corporate blue with a modern, fresh design.  It included flash components that will not affect Search Engine Optimization and will still enhance it's look with large fading images that give you an idea of what the business offers from the moment you enter the site.

We also added the ability for clients to apply for jobs under the job descriptions and an administration tool for the staff to easily manage the jobs that are constantly changing.  Because the site and the business is geared for clients who are looking for employment, we wanted to make sure the site was user friendly and personal.  Since searching for a job can be very stressful, we wanted to make sure the viewers felt at ease when navigating and applying for jobs.

Overall, the site has a fresh, high end professional look that is easily accessible for clients and for the staff.
