Michael
Cook is a well versed artist who expresses himself through poetry,
song and musicals. In the course of his career, he has
debuted such pieces as “The Sun Shines at Midnight” a compilation of
songs written by Cook and performed with an assembled band of
trumpets, clarinets and back-up vocals, has written a book of poetry
called “The Rise and Fall of the Mind” and created a two-act musical
titled “Le Shotgun Marriage”, a tragicomedy about death and
marriage. Cook was looking for a way to compile all avenues of his
creativity in one central location. The solution to this was to
create a website that would allow people to purchase his work,
listen to sample tracks of his poetry and music and learn about Cook
as an artist.
What EO did for Michael Cook
In addition to creating an original website design that was clean, simple and reflected who Cook is as an artist, it was his goal to have the ability to be able to edit the content on his website. That being said, EO created an administration tool that allows him to login to his website to add, edit and delete the text on the website pages and upload mp3 files for each song and poem by category. To help maintain the content of the site, a WYSISYG (What You See Is What You Get) feature was created this allows anyone who has experience using Microsoft Word to easily edit the web pages themselves. This feature allows the user to edit font size, style and color.
